Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland was the daughter of actors Melissa D. Canaday (New York City) and Edward James Hyland (New York City). Her career began as a professional at age four by performing voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts was her first film. The Object of My Affection (1998) followed by Another World (1964) where she played "Rain Wolfe" as a child who was found in the park and looked after and loved by Josie. Sarah would continue to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times: Falcone (2000) and Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected as one of the younger "Audrey Hepburns" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000) in the same year that she was cast as "Molly" on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999) which starred Kathy Bates, Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth. Also, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) and Falcone (2000). Aside from all of her television and film work, Sarah studied voice, hip-hop, ballet, jazz, tap, Theatre Dance, and performed with her tap and Theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" at Lincoln Center as invited performers.A born in New York and raised there, Sarah spent much of her time working in film, television, and also voicing numerous radio ads, as well as traveling with her father, Edward James Hyland, when he was employed at many different theaters across the United States. When she was home-schooled by her mom, she attended public schools from second grade onwards. In 6th Grade, she was accepted into PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) which she attended until she graduated in 2008. Sarah was just 18 when she moved to Los Angeles. She landed the pilot named "My American Family" within two weeks. After she was accepted, the pilot's name changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently "Haley Dunphy", an the oldest of the Dunphy children. Modern Family (2009) won many awards, including the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
