Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Her signature spiky blonde hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. While living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment that I was a student at The Culinary Institute of America she states. I was never able to be more educated or accomplished in my studies. Following her graduation, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. While in Italy she was able to fully be aware of the philosophy behind Italian food and culture that has had a profound impact on her culinary viewpoint. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten the lives of children facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, where she promotes children with diabetes and awareness. As a speaker, Burrell travels across the nation to share her passion for cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it is a privilege to be in a position to share this passion for the food industry with people.
