Rose McGowan

"Rose", born on September 5, 1973 was an American actress. McGowan's
debut film appearance was in the comedic Encino Man (1992), however she was
recognized for her role in The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an
Independent Spirit Award nomination as Best Debut Performance. McGowan first
appeared in the horror film Scream in 1996. Then, she appeared as the lead
actress in Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh (1998) as well as Going All
the Way (1997). McGowan was most well-known for her part in Charmed which was a
supernatural-themed drama series on WB from 2001 to 2006. She was then cast in
Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007)
for which she was nominated for both the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well
as the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she starred in Chosen the
action-thriller show. The actress dropped Planet 9, her first studio album in
the year 2018, and a repackaging followed in 2020. McGowan was named one of the
Silence Breakers in 2017 by Time magazine. This honor recognizes McGowan's work
in the field of sexual harassment and assault, particularly with regard to
Harvey Weinstein cases of sexual abuse as well as the Me Too movement. McGowan
has published a memoir, Brave, and starred in the four-part documentary series
Citizen Rose, both in 2018.
