Milena Govich

Milena Govich is a director, actor, and musician who has directed many episodes of TV that include The Equalizer (2021), Chicago Med (2015), FBI: Most Wanted (2020), Chicago Fire (2012) and Chicago Fire (2012), among others. Milena was the Co-EP/Producing Director for Dick Wolf's CBS show FBI (2018) and is currently attached for two pilots. Milena was one of eight filmmakers selected for AFI's prestigious Directing Workshop for Women, in addition to the exclusive Sony Pictures Television Diverse Directors Program. Unspeakable, her short film as well as a TV series proof of concept, was shown at SXSW. It also took home Best Episodic at the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena Vandervoort) has been shown all across the United States. It won the title of Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also presented at the Sedona International Film Festival. Milena has appeared as an actor on more than 100 TV shows. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Also, she was a part of the Dick Wolf series Conviction (2006) and was the catalyst for her role as the very first and only female detective in the Emmy-winning show Law & Order (1990). K-Ville (2007), The Defenders (2010) (CBS), Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) and Lori Stevens in the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014) have been a part of her, or have recurred. Milena has also appeared in many films, such as Sordid Things (2009); A Novel Romance (2011) which starred alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) as well as #Lucky Number (2015) with the lead alongside Method Man; and the movies Closure (2018), Be the Light (2020), and The Cleaner (2021). Milena is a Norman, Oklahoma native. After graduating valedictorian from her high school She went on to earn an undergraduate degree in both singing and premed, along with minors in violin and dance at the University of Central Oklahoma. Then she made the most of her classical ballet background to perform on Broadway in the production by Rob Marshall and Sam Mendes of 'Cabaret' in Studio 54.
