Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th on 1982. She is an American actress, producer, and director. She made her film debut in Purple People Eater (1988) which earned her an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress under Nine Years Old". Birch became a household name as when she was a child actor, appearing in films such as All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive an BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she won as Best Actress for Ghost World. Birch was nominated for an Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Birch has also been a part of Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch was also a part of Whisperer Mary / Gamma in Season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was the eldest of children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch who's family included the surname Biersch is German-Jewish, and Scandinavian. Birch also has French-Canadian, French-Canadian, and Italian roots. [6] Her name, "Thora," is derived from the Norse god of lightning and thunder "Thor" that would have been her name, when she was a boy. She is the younger sister of Kian Bolt Birch.Birch's parents are former adult film actors, who both appeared in the film Deep Throat. They were reluctant to help Thora due to their past experience in the entertainment business. But the babysitter noticed Thora mimicking commercials and convinced them to display Thora's image to agents. Birch was only four years old when she had her first major break when her babysitter invited her on a audition for an Quaker Oats advertisement.
