Sofia Margarita Vergara

Sofia Margarita Vergara (Spanish: born on July 10, 1972) is a Colombian American actress, television producer, presenter, and model. Vergara was the highest-paid female actress on American television from 2013 to 2020. Vergara rose in prominence when she hosted two shows on Univision's Spanish-language television network in the early 1990s. Chasing Papi (2003) was Vergara's debut major acting role in English. The following year, she appeared in Four Brothers (2005) and Tyler Perry's comedy Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009) which earned her an ALMA Award nomination for the last. Her first role was as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett in ABC's comedy show Modern Family in 2009. As a result of this role, she received four Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards. The voice-overs she did were Happy Feet Two (2011) and Escape from Planet Earth (2013). She was also in The Emoji Movie (2017). Vergara was also the highest paid Hollywood actress in 2020 [citation requiredand 2020[citation required]. Vergara is a judge on America's Got Talent since 2020. Vergara was raised in Barranquilla by an Roman Catholic couple. Vergara's mom Margarita Vergara was a housewife and her father Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo was a cattle rancher. The five siblings of her and many of her family members have referred to her as "Toti". Vergara was a dental student for three years at National University of Colombia, however she decided to leave two semesters short of completing her education to pursue modeling opportunities and show business.
