Rosamund Pike
Born in
London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of
Caroline (Friend) (Friend), mother of a classical violinist and Julian Pike, an
opera musician dad. Her childhood was spent traveling around Europe due to her
parents' work. Pike was born in Bristol and attended Badminton School. She then
started acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in a National
Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was then signed by
an agent after she was noticed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth
Theatre. While her debut film was a high-budget action film, her film
involvement was mostly in smaller independent films like Promised Land (2004)
and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at
The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice
(2005) was her first film. After a brief time in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and
Fracture (2006) and Fracture (2006), she returned to film with impressive
performances in three of the smaller films. She also appeared in Johnny English
Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi drama Wrath of the Titans (2012). Alongside Tom
Cruise as her female character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action
films.
