Michelle Lynn Monaghan (born March 23 in 1976) is an American actress. She is well-known for her roles as the main character in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005), Gone Baby Gone (2007), Made of Honor (2008), Eagle Eye (2008), Trucker (2008), Source Code (2011), Pixels (2015) and Patriots Day (2016). She played Julia Meade, the main character in Mission: Impossible's action spy series Mission: Impossible (2006), Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011), Mission: Impossible Fallout (2018) has been praised. Monaghan also starred in the debut season of True Detective (2014) in the first season of True Detective as Maggie Hart. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award, Best Supporting Actress. She was also the character Sarah Lane on the drama series The Path (2016-18). Monaghan was the character Eva Geller on the 2020 Netflix thriller series Messiah. The show was cancelled after one season. Monaghan was the child of Sharon Hammel (a factory worker) in Winthrop. Bob and John are her older brothers. Monaghan, who is mostly of Irish and German origin was raised Catholic and graduated from East Buchanan High School 1994. She relocated to Chicago after graduation to study journalism at Columbia College Chicago. Then she began modeling. She has modelled in Milan and Tokyo, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Hong Kong, Tokyo and the United States. In 1999, she only had only one semester remaining to finish her journalism degree. After that, she relocated to New York to pursue an acting career. Modeling was her forte and appeared in a variety of catalogs and magazines before making her acting debut. Monaghan was featured in two television roles as supporting characters in Young Americans' episodes in 2000. Her second television appearance was in Law & Order: Special Victims Unified , in "Consent", which aired on January 19, 2001. Also, Monaghan made her first big screen appearance in Perfume in 2001 as Henrietta. Her next film, also playing a role of support in 2002, was Unfaithful with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
